Blue Hawaii

vintage Dress
The Limited Straw Bag
Club Monaco Hat
Chanel Sunglasses
United Colors of Benetton Jean Jacket
made in Hawaii personalized Wood Bracelet

This summer season makes me miss tropical Hawaii! (can we get rid of this June gloom!) I wanted my wardrobe for this vacation to be filled with tons of color and authentic Hawaiian pieces (think touristy, but intentional)!

I found a cute shop in Old Town Orange that had tons of vintage made in Hawaii dresses. After going through some racks, I found two dresses with amazing prints. This 1970's Royal Blue Hawaiian Floral Column Dress was half off, for only $17! I love how the floral print grows upward towards the shoulder. Like they say fashion is a cycle....check out how today's designers have interpreted this vintage print: Preen, Gucci, and Michael Kors.

SARONG!

Oscar de la Renta Sarong Pants
Saint Laurent Crop Top
Oscar de la Renta Drop Earrings
made in Hawaii personalized Wood Bracelet
hawaii swap meet Necklace

If you can't decide between pants or a skirt....just combine the two! These sarong pants are one of my favorite summer staples. I took these pics back in December during my Hawaiian getaway. These pants are flowy, colorful, and fun! Plus, they are so versatile....I paired it with a bikini top for a casual stroll by the beach and switched it out with this crop top and colorful accessories for an evening dinner. I've seen so many cute versions of these sarong pants. Check out my Zara picks here, here, and here.

Dress Not Required!

Lanvin Jumpsuit, Charlotte Olympia Heels, Alexander McQueen Clutch, Chanel Sunglasses

Lanvin Silk Jumpsuit (similar at Zara here)
Charlotte Olympia Heels
Alexander McQueen Minaudiere
Chanel Sunglasses
old Pearl Earrings
handmade in Philippines Necklace

It's wedding season everyone! "Black tie" usually calls for elegant gowns. But for me, I choose to wear the total opposite! It's all about the jumpsuit! I mentioned before that I am addicted to them....I own around 10 styles ranging from casual to formal. This silk one-shoulder jumpsuit is a fresh and modern way for the fashion forward woman to mix things up from the typical dress. I got it a couple years ago and have worn it at three different weddings...it's perfect for the dance floor!

Gotta mention a new addition to my closet...I'm so excited about my new marine-inspired McQueen minaudiere. It's screams summer ocean with its sea barnacle print and the seashell/skull clasp with crystal eyes. Work of art!

Little White Dress

 Haltson Heritage White Dress
Marni Necklace
Proenza Schouler TriColor Heels
made in Philippines Minaudiere
Ray-Ban Mirrored Sunglasses

Move over spring flowers...time for some summer sun! Perfect excuse to take out my little white dress. The LWD is a wardrobe staple that every woman should own....Dress it up or dress it down.

This outfit was definitely inspired by one of the most fashionable movies ever made....Sex and The City 2! Carrie wore this dress in the opening scene, except all her accessories were gold. I switched it up with what I had in my closet and decided on greenish-blue accessories. They brought some pop of color to this all white ensemble. Not to mention they perfectly highlighted the bright blue waters behind me.

Street Ballet

Walter Steiger Pointed Ballerina Flats
Current/Elliot Denim Jacket
Chanel Boy Bag
J.Crew Button Up Shirt
Seven Denim Jeans
Chanel Brooch

On your tippy toes...here comes the denim ballerina! Who says you can't pair denim with even more denim and then pretty it up with a pair of ballerina flats! Its SoCal cool and comfty!

Truth is, I never took ballet classes as a child (and my recent stint taking PureBarre classes don't count). So my love is all for ballet fashion. I found these sleek ballerina flats by Walter Steiger. I own several pairs of ballerina flats, but these stood out because they actually lace up like real ballerina shoes. They are perfect for a day out shopping with the girls. But if you're headed out for a night on the town then try out some Walter Steiger signature curved heels. They are extremely unique (think McQueen/Gaga) but ultra-sexy! Check out Walter Steiger here

Shopping Tip: I made a quick pit stop at Marshalls for some athletic socks (needed them for my favorite spinning class "Soul Cycle"). As I was walking towards the athletic department I saw this denim jacket hanging in the distance. It immediately reminded me of a Chanel tweed jacket. It has the same classic silhouette and frayed edges but was made in casual denim by Current/Elliot. Always be on the lookout for affordable clothes that you can make look luxurious by tweaking it a bit! All it need was a little help from my Chanel pearl brooch. Voila! Best part was the $39 price tag for such a chic jacket! Gotta love Marshalls!

Marchesa Cocktail Dress
Oscar de la Renta Blue Evening Gown
Monique Lhuillier Green Evening Gown
Marchesa Black Evening Gown
Marchesa Black and White Ruffle Cocktail Dress
Neiman Marcus Silver Jeweled Necklace

Mr. Marcel: Giorgio Armani Tuxedo

With all the gorgeous gowns appearing at the Cannes Film Festival, I decided it was time to share more from my 2010 engagement shoot. Like I mentioned before, our theme was "Timeless Love: Past, Present, Future." Since I have so many pictures I've been sharing them in 3 parts.

Today, I'm posting pics from my "Present" themed photo shoot (Part 2 of 3). I wanted my hair, make-up, and dresses to be current while keeping it sophisticated and timeless. To represent the present, we decided the backdrop would be at our rival alma maters: UCLA (Mr. Marcel.) and USC (me!).  We met while we were in college, so it only seemed fit to capture these special places in our pictures. Hope you like them. Stay tuned for the last segment of engagement pictures from my "Past" themed shoot!

Color Blocks

bottega veneta dress, celine wedges, brixton hat, prada sunglasses, oscar de la renta earrings
 Bottega Veneta Dress
Celine Wedges
Salvatorre Ferragamo Clutch (vintage)
Oscar de la Renta Earrings
Prada Sunglasses
Brixton Straw Fedora

Sometimes the simplest designs are the most interesting. This basic dress is decorated with a few blocks of color... like a piece of tribal artwork. All it needed was my hubby's straw fedora and some chunky wooden wedges.
